Remote Desktop Gateway

From the same network I am getting two behaviors...

I get this accessing Windows Home Server 2011 or Windows Server 2012 Essentials and the errors vary.

From a Windows 7 Pro workstation, I can successfully access the Remote Web and initiate and RDP connection to a workstation via the Remote Desktop Gateway.

From a Windows 8 Pro workstation, I can successfully access Remote Web but can never get an RDP connection.  I get one of the two errors below.

Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server address is unreachable or incorrect.  Type a valid Remote Desktop Gateway server address.

OR...

This computer can't connect o the remote computer.

The two computers couldn't connect in the amount of time alloted.  Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact your network administrator or technical support.

This has me stumped.  Only from a Windows 8 workstation am I getting a failure.  I can connect to both versions of Remote Web Access with no issues just can't get a connection through RDG with the Windows 8 machine.  For the record, I get the same behavior connecting to a client who still runs Small Business Server 2011 as well.  Good from Windows 7 and no-go from Windows 8.  The RDP clients themselves on the workstations appear to be configured with the same options.

Any clues to best figure out why the profound difference in results?
