Hello,
Some weeks ago, I got a new Windows Server 2012 Essentials computer set up as a home backup server. I connected four client computers, which all worked just fine. Then, a few weeks ago, a client computer stopped being able to connect, and I'm trying to fix
it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the connector, which gives the error that "Cannot connect this computer to the network: The server is not available. Try connecting the computer again, and for more information, see Troubleshoot connecting computers
to the server."
The weird thing is, on my other client computers, it asks for an admin account on the server. The one that doesn't work allows me to use the credentials of a user (and recommends against using an admin account).
I have the ClientDeploy.log from the latest installation attempt; below are some of the most important-looking parts (I can put the entire thing into Pastebin if needed). I've also run Robert Pearman's "Windows Server Essentials - Configuration Tester",
which gives a few errors. Part of the output is below as well. His blog post (http://titlerequired.com/2014/02/14/windows-server-essentialsconfiguration-troubleshooter/) says that the CA name is important, but I can't figure out what it should be. (I think
right now it is named COMPUTERNAME-CA, with COMPUTERNAME being the name of the server.) Does anyone know?
I've tried everything I could find on the internet, including a bunch of IIS commands and things like that. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Essentials role. Nothing helps. I did notice that I have four different SSL certificates. Also, accessing"https://192.168.xxx.xxx//connect/default..." through a browser generates a certificate name error, but using "https://COMPUTERNAME//connect/default..." instead works just fine.
Thanks in advance for your help.
