Two Client Computers lost options to Start Backup, Customize Backup and View Alerts?

Background:  Setup WSE2012 less then two weeks ago.  Installed 4 computers, two of which are laptops, two Windows 8 Pro, two are Windows 8 Enterprise.  The first computer installed (and one of the two with this issue) joined the domain but I didn't know I could not use my original profile and then because of a possible licensing problem, I left the domain and joined a workgroup.  Therefore, I decided to have all of them 'off' of the domain and use the homegroup.

All was fine until yesterday when I noticed two computers did not succeed in backing up.  When remoting into the server, I brought up the dashboard and right clicked on the computer to check the status and now 3 options are missing,  Start Backup, Customize Backup, and View Alerts.  Now I can use the Launchpad to initiate a manual backup, but I can't customize it. Of the two now missing those options, one is Pro and one is Enterprise.

I have not yet tried the Connector uninstall/reinstall which will probably happen in a few days without a real solution found here.
