Slow RDP Connections via Server 2012 Essentials Remote Web Access

Hello,

I have a brand new Server 2012 Essentials server and I'm having issues with Remote Web Access that are I believe, narrowed down to the Remote Desktop Gateway service. I have port 443 only forwarded to the server from my router, and I am able to access the remote web access page, but the issues arise when I attempt to connect to a computer. If I click on my server (configured to use remote desktop, not dashboard) or a Windows 7 client PC, I am successful in connecting only 20-30% of the time. When it does allow me to connect, the connection is active for 10-15 seconds before locking up and stating 'The connection has been lost. Attempting to reconnect to your session...' The connection will be re-established within 15-20 seconds, but then it will only work for a few more seconds before it kicks me back to 'reconnecting.' It continues in such a cycle indefinitely. On the occasions that the RDP connection does not complete and log me into a PC, I receive such errors as "There is a problem with the webpage,""An error occurred on the webpage," "There is an error on the remote computer," or "The RD Gateway server is temporarily unavailable."

Below is a list of troubleshooting steps I have taken so far:
- Attempted to connect to multiple computers (server 2012 as well as Windows 7 client PC) via remote web access
- Attempted to manually specify RD Gateway server in a standard remote desktop connection, bypassing IIS/RWA
- Attempted to connect to the server via alternate remote method (Teamviewer works just fine)
- Logged onto workstation via RDP directly from server (works fine)
- Internet bandwidth test (speedtest.net result is consistently ~20mb down, ~2mb up)
- Updated NIC drivers on server
- Network service tweaking on server, disabled TCP autotuning, ECN capability, RSS, and TCP Chimney offload
- Restarted services and restarted server
- Updated my client PC (Windows 7 Pro Sp1) to latest RDP client (version 8.0)
- Verified MTU setting (1472)

Other notes:
- Server 2012 Essentials OEM
- Lenovo TS430, Xeon E3-1220 V2 processor, 16gb RAM
- AT&T DSL internet, Innsite router

Any guidance/suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,
Neil
