Pulling my hair out…
We just got a new Dell server running Windows Server 2012 Essentials. We have successfully connected 6 out of 11 client workstations to the domain and new server without issue using the "Computer Connector" wizard provided by the server. All client workstations are running Windows 7 Pro.
On two of the workstations, after connecting with the server, downloading and running the Computer Connector program, upon entering either an admin or standard username and password, we get "The server is not available. Try connecting this computer again, or for more information, see Troubleshoot connecting computers to the server". Obviously the serveris or was available as it provided the computer connector software for the client, so it seems it is not be a network connectivity issue. Furthermore, we are able to access files on the server from these same client workstations.
On the other two machines everything seems to go fine until reboot, and after reboot the user profile pictures are missing at the welcome screen and we are unable to log into windows with the usernames and passwords. The only way I have been able to get back into the workstations is to system restore, (see screenshots on those).
Anyone have either of these issues? I am STUCK…please HELP! Thanks so much for any solutions or ideas!
