I have recently installed Windows Server 2012 Essentials and all available updates, including Update Rollup 1. My laptop running Windows 8 Enterprise with all available updates, and with the Essentials Connector and DA-related GPO's applied is unable to make a DirectAccess connection from remote locations. When I view the DA logs, the first error that I see under DirectAccess Connectivity Status is the following:
DirectAccess connectivity status for user: DOMAIN\User is
Error: Corporate connectivity is not working. Windows is unable to contact some remote resources due to network authentication failures. 12/5/2013 20:54:50 (UTC).
I am able to make a connection to my server's RWW and I can use my Windows Phone 7.x "My Server" app to access this server remotely and browse files with no problems. I can make a VPN connection to my office network via my laptop. The problem with DirectAccess seems to be confined to that service itself.
I have searched for postings related to this error, but have found nothing relevant.
I set up DirectAccess following http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204618. I probably did something wrong in the setup, but am at a loss where to begin. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
