Hi, after trying numerous time to restore a server backup of my system drive I've run into a wall. Looking for ideas/suggestions.
What I'm trying to do:
- Migrate my current system drive to a new drive (current drive is failing)
- The current drive is located on the IDE bus, the new drive is located on the SATA bus.
I've tried the system restore function, although when attempting to restore I am not given the option of restoring to my new SATA drive. The restore process seems to be limited to only drives on the IDE bus.
Does Windows Server Essentials enable the ability to migrate your system drive between IDE and SATA? If not, I'd love to hear any suggestions on for 3rd party tools compatible with Server Essentials 2012 that would enable this scenario?
