Win8.1Pro user on Win 2012 R2 Essentials - Explorer Search not working

I am dumbfounded by this. Search function for files in a 2015 operating system has major bugs. I know I am not alone, because I've searched and found multiple users with similar issues. I have tried applying fixes as noted in other forums, but I still have the same problem.

I have an active directory domain set up for a small business, on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. There are 10 devices that are on the network with 5 users. All except one user have properly functioning searches on explorer.

By process of elimination, I have found out that the issue is tied to the user. No matter which computer that user logs into, searching in explorer in a specific shared folder returns nothing. All other users are able to search this network folder without problems. The network folder is on a Synology Network-Attached-Storage appliance. It is mapped to the same drive letter for all users on all computers. Regardless whether that user searches on the actual NAS folder (e.g., \\DISKSTATION\Folder-Name\) or on the mapped folder (e.g., G:\); the results show nothing. And I repeat, for all other users on the same machines, the search function works fine, whether the folder is pointed to the NAS directly or to the mapped one.

I have set up the user access, drive mapping, etc, manually on all machines. I do not understand Group Policies very well, and I don't want to cause a problem (similar to above) with all the others. And so I have not changed/added/deleted any default Group Policies on the active directory server.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!
