Hi - was hoping someone a bit more "Server Smart" might know what to do here because I've beens scouring the internet forever and a day.
I build a Windows 2012 Essentials server on an HP Proliant server using 4 2 TB drives. I have 3 PCs connected for the last three months and they have all worked perfectly. All are Windows 8 Pro and they back up nightly, no issue. I took the one laptop out of commission this week and bought a new one. So I removed the old laptop and its device & backups from the server.
I had a new machine the was windows 8 64 bit (not pro) so I installed Office and a few things along with the Computer Connector. I then used the "Add Features" to in-place upgrade to windows 8 Pro Pack for domain. I am connected on both the domain and as a local machine. The Connector shows me the shared folders and remote connection.
Everytime you start a backup (manual or nightly) it starts and then after 1% it ends with an error message that the device does not have enough storage space.
The server has a 2 TB drive with the backup folders on it. 987 GB are free. The total size of the hard drive in the new laptop is only 500 GB and it has approx 20 GB used. All of the other machines continue to backup.
I'm sure you might want a log file or something - or maybe you just know the answer. Any help would be appreciated. This laptop is suppossed to be the replacement for my Phd work - probably not the best to be left not backed up for too long :-(
Thanks
Jon
