I have a relatively new WSE 2012 machine that has been backing up 5 clients successfully for a few weeks. The machine hung last night. It took a power cycle to get it going again. This morning, the devices dashboard pane shows all 5 machine's backup status as "Not set up". Some machines were backed up last night prior to the forced restart, but backup didn't continue for the others after the restart.
Are the backup settings truly gone? Is there any way to recover them short of setting each machine for back up again? Not a big deal, but it's concerning to lose that state. The old settings seem to be correctly found when I configure each machine. Once reconfigured, a backup started.
It's also troubling that the machine UI hangs about every 10 days -- can't log in, or get thru the pw screen and its unresponsive thereafter, both via connected keybd/moni and rdp. In this state nothing is available... clients can't access shares, backup operations stop, etc. I have no clues on the hangs, I'm continuing to try to track that down.
