Setup Your Domain Name

Hi,

Currently running up a Windows Server 2012 Essentials and having trouble with the domain setup. From initial installation I have used a standard contoso.local domain name, so that setting is normal. Plus product key entered and activated, every Windows update installed :)

When trying to configure remote access on the Setup Your Domain Name screen with the options of "I want to use a domain name I already own" and "I want to set up a new domain name". No matter which option I choose I get the prompt;

"""

The domain name was not set up for your server. Wait a few minutes and run the wizard again.

The list of domain services available for your server cannot be found. Make sure your server is connected to the Internet. If this problem continues, wait a few minutes, and then try again.

"""

The computer is 100% connected to the internet. The only firewall in place is the Windows Firewall, which I have even tried turning off. The router is not blocking anything outgoing. I have tried a variety of IPv4 DNS settings the system is still on connected to the net and I keep getting the same error. From a domain management point of view I intended to do this all manually, but I should still be able to get past this screen???

From my research (err.. google) no one else appears to be having this problem.

Any suggestions / questions please let me know. Thanks for your time,

Steve
