I am replacing an sbs 2003 server with a windows server 2012. I was not able to get the //servername/connect program to successfully add computers to the network. Wizard fails during this screen:
I added the 5 client Windows 7 PCs using the Computer/Properties/Change settings path.
Most likely, for the same reason I can’t successfully run the connect wizard, I’m unable to successfully run the remote Access wizard:
The server is connected to the internet, so I don’t know what that message means.
I can manually forward additional port if need be on the sonic wall firewall.
Here is the current configuration:
Comcast Modem: static public IP 68.xx.xxx.181, gateway 68.xx.xxx.182 | Sonic Wall Firewall: Private IP 192.168.0.1 Old model |
Server 2012
NIC1:
Static IP 192.168.0.2, subnet 255.255.255.0, GW 192.168.0.1
DNS1: 192.168.0.3
DNS2: 68.87.85.98
DHCP active
DNS Server Active
NIC2: Disabled
Modem ---Sonic wall Firewall-------HUB/Switch------Windows server 2012
|-----5 workstation PCs
I would like to activate the send NIC for redundancy and speed benefits.
What Have I missed?
