Hi everybody.
I'm new here so please be kind to me.
I have a question regarding the use of work folders. I have a single server running on windows server 2012 R2 essentials and am using the remote web access functionality. I tried to install work folders as it seams like an really good functionality. i changed the port for work folders to resolve conflict with IIS which is running the remote web access and multiple websites/apps as discribed in: (I changed it to port 1201 for https trafic)
http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2013/10/15/windows-server-2012-r2-resolving-port-conflict-with-iis-websites-and-work-folders.aspx
I can make an sync space in the server manager. But however when I try to use the workfolders on an windows 7 machine I run in to problems. I use the webadress https://<xxx.remotewebaccess.com:1201 (the name provided by microsoft when setting up remote web access.
The client PC fist shows "Retrieve work data. Finding you data on the work folders server" and it looks like it goes OK. But than an error appears. "There was an error finding your Work Folders server. The operation timed out (0x80072ee2)".
I looked trough a lot of documentation regarding work folders and I am thinking it might be some problem regarding not having an reverse proxy. I read:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2014/03/03/deploying-work-folders-with-ad-fs-and-web-application-proxy-wap.aspx
This tutorial discribes the use of AD FS and web application proxy. But this setup requires multiple servers. I only have one server. Is there an way of using work folders (maybe there is an tutorial for this?) to use work folders with an single server (using windows server 2012 R2 essentials with remote web access functionality) without the need to install AD FS and the web application proxy? Maybe with use of other reverse proxy software?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
