Ok, this may seem like a dumb question but is there likely to be a way to get a client computer to install the connector software, join the domain etc. on Windows Server Essentials 2012 without having that computer directly connected inside the network?
In other words, if that computer is outside the network but has internet connection, can anyone think of a way to get it to connect to thehttp://[Servername]/connect web page and run the connector software install? Obviously, they can connect to the domain name Remote Access page if they have an authorised user account with which to log in. Would it be possible, say, to edit the web page for the Remote Access Home Page and add a URL, which points to the connector install and if so, would the install be likely to work?
The reason I want to try this is that I have machines I would like to add and manage from the server, but which are hundreds, if not thousands, of miles away with no prospect of getting them connected directly to my internal (home) network.

Patrick
