I just build a box with an Asus motherboard with Intel H97 chipset (h97i-plus). The on-board Intel LAN adapter should be i218-v. I have tried both Win 2012 Server Essentials and Fedora 20 installs. Both kernels do not recognize the Intel chipset and on-board LAN. I tried downloading drivers from Asus and Intel. I had no success. I looked at the release notes on Intel drivers, and it explicitly says no support for i218-v.
A few questions:
1) Is my on-board LAN indeed i218-v
2) If it is, where are the drivers for this chipset and the network adapter in particular.
I am in desperation mode at this point. I can wait, but not too long. How long do we think new drivers will take to roll out. And if new drivers aren't needed, and I have a brick on hand ... I need to know this too.
Please help.
