Once every week or so, the Server Backup takes hours longer than normal and appears to freeze - making the server almost inoperable for a period (almost impossible to remote desktop into it, media streaming often fails, etc. although file shares are ok). Having monitored this for a while now, it appears that the process of "reorganising" the files on the backup (presumably when the target is getting full) takes over the processor and disk so much as to cause this - surely there must be a way in which this specific process can be throttled better so as not to cause these problems.
