Storage pool won't stay online

I have a storage pool across 3 physical drives: 1TB, 1.5TB, & 2 TB. I made the mistake of forgetting to configure a client computer backup to exclude its large video library, and that client backup filled the storage pool and then failed. I've been trying to recover from it ever since.

Manage Storage Spaces shows me it's "Using 2.72 TB of 4.09 TB pool capacity", with the warning "Drive or storage space issues; check the Physical drives and Storage spaces sections". And below that, by this storage space (I only have the 1), it says 2.71TB; Using 2.72 TB pool capacity, and Error No capacity; add 1 drive.

From what I've read, the server brings the pool offline when it's out of storage. Fine. What I'd like to do is bring the pool online so I can delete something (or clear the client backups) and free up space. But when I click "Bring online", it brings the drive online for about 6 seconds, then it goes offline again. Not even long enough for the drive to show up in the dashboard. I need a little longer than that.

Any ideas? I'm hoping the only solution isn't to add another physical drive to the pool to  increase space, cuz I don't have one kicking around.
