Hi, I installed Windows Server 2012 Essentials as a replacement of WHS v1. Installation went smooth and now is all running normal except a couple of things I don't know how to solve. I have 1 server with WSE 2012 + 3 client PC all running Windows 8 pro and are part of the same domain. For WSE 2012 I just followed the Standard installation and set up a domain. The issue comes after I installed the Health report Add-in and each time the server restarts I get the following 2 errors: ------------------------------ ADWS | ||||||||||||||
This computer is now hosting the specified directory instance, but Active Directory Web Services could not service it. Active Directory Web Services will retry this operation periodically. Directory instance: NTDS Directory instance LDAP port: 389 Directory instance SSL port: 636 | ||||||||||||||
------------------
---------------- If I check the services, both DNS and ADWS are running. If I go to Server Manager and check under AD DS I see the same ADWS error and it says the error code is 1202. When I check DNS on Server Manager I also see a warning saying that DNS could not be started (Warning ID 4013). My qüestions are: 1. Is this important in a home environment? 2. Everything Works ok, or it seems so, do I need to fix it? 3. How can I fix it? And just to clarify, I am not an IT guy, I just try to set up a low maintenance server to keep my files and backups centralized. So all this errors are new to me. Thanks a lot for your help. |
